R Huber 3 Seat Sofa
Vintage R. Huber teak-framed three-seat sofa
We will strip this vintage R. Huber three-seat sofa back to its hardwood teak frame and rebuild it to like-new condition. The restoration process includes:
Careful disassembly and removal of old upholstery, padding, springs and webbing, preserving the original teak frame.
Structural inspection and repair of the frame: checking joints, replacing or reinforcing dowels and tenons, and reglueing where needed to restore original strength and alignment.
Cleaning and gentle refinishing of the teak: removing old finishes and surface damage, light sanding, and applying an appropriate oil or satin clear finish to revive the natural grain while maintaining an authentic patina.
Replacement of internal support: new webbing or springs installed to original specifications if needed for correct seat tension and comfort.
Premium upholstery: high-density foam and choice of commercial-grade fabrics tailored cushions with zippers for easy cleaning and replacement.
Final assembly and quality check: ensuring seat height, cushion fit, and overall symmetry meet period-accurate proportions and modern comfort standards.
Results: a structurally sound, comfortably updated vintage R. Huber sofa that preserves the original teak frame and mid-century proportions while offering durable, refreshed upholstery suited to modern use. Guidance on fabric options and finish choice is available to match either a restored vintage look or a more contemporary update.
We have 1000’s of fabric choices.
Pricing depends on fabric selection and customization.
Starting at $4900
